As an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, our primary treatment is face-to-face delivery of clinical exercise with frequent physical assessments for progress evaluation. Our services expand to hydrotherapy, group exercise, education, telehealth, programming for home exercise and home-visits. We also offer general exercise programming, for individuals at risk of developing a chronic condition or injury, or simply wish to achieve personal goals.

Our treatment at The Rehab Effect is individualised and ranges from, but not limited to rehabilitation for:

Chronic/complex pathologies such as:
cardiovascular, neurological, autoimmune and respiratory diseases. Cancer, metabolic, chronic pain and mental health.

Acute events such as a: stroke, heart attack, accident, pre-operative and post-operative rehabilitation.

Injuries affecting:
Muscles, tendons, ligaments, cartilage, blood vessels, fascia, and nerves.

We ensure health education is made a priority at The Rehab Effect so individuals can take on knowledge, use the tools and transfer them into daily life!

Compensable Schemes for Exercise Physiology:

  • Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA): DVA health cards (Gold and White) are accepted as payment upon a GP ‘D904’ referral.
  • Medicare: Individuals with a chronic condition and/or complex care needs, are eligible for AEP services under a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan via a GP referral. We charge no gap, therefore our CDM visits are 100% bulk billed. Please note CDM plans cover 5 visits per calendar year.
  • Private Health Insurance (PHI): Individuals with applicable health funds that include Exercise Physiology cover, are eligible for services. Contact your PHI directly to confirm eligibility. Yes! we have a HICAPS terminal on site so be sure to bring your private health card for instant rebates.
  • National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS): Exercise Physiology is now included in the Improved Daily Living Skills and Improved Health and Wellbeing categories of your NDIS Capacity Building Supports budget. If you have funds allocated to these categories, then you are able to access Exercise Physiology. If your current funds are allocated elsewhere, you will be able to make changes and re-locate funds to mentioned categories.
  • Workers Compensation (Workcover QLD): Individuals under work-cover QLD following a workplace incident are eligible for AEP services for treatment, through a referral from GP or insurance case manager.
  • Telehealth: Telehealth is considered as the delivery of technology-based treatment via video, telephone and/or internet applications. Telehealth services are a great flexible option if in-person consultations are not accessible or preferred. Living in remote communities, travelling away for work/holiday or illness, or simply being in the comfort of your own space drives one to telehealth. These online services will replicate in-person exercise sessions. DVA, Medicare, NDIS, PHI and Workcover QLD offer telehealth services
